Dimensions of Sprocket

Sprockets could be classified into normal sprockets, HK sprockets and various sprockets.
1. Typical sprocket
Common sprockets are ANSI sprockets which might be engaged with typical series roller chains. See P125 for dimensions.
There are two varieties of tooth profiles: U-tooth and S-tooth.
two. HK sprocket
HK sprockets might be engaged with HK series roller chains, and individuals for single strand chains are identical to standard sprockets. However, sprockets for a number of strand chains are diverse from regular sprockets in sprocket tooth profile.
three. Other sprockets
Other sprockets are intended in accordance on the following calculation formulas to suit respective specialty chains.
The sprockets employed to the following chains would be the identical because the standard sprockets in tooth gap form, but various in tooth thickness (sprocket tooth profile).
four. Calculation of sprocket dimensions
The dimensions of standard sprockets and other common sprockets are calculated as follows. In the beginning, the diameters of sprockets are calculated from your following calculation formulas.
Subsequent, sprocket tooth profile (the form from the tooth depending on its thickness) is calculated from your following calculation formulas. (The values shown inside the following pages have been calculated by these formulas and regarded as the normal values.)

Calculation of pitch diameter, tip diameter and caliper diameter
The fundamental dimensions of a sprocket appropriate for a chain pitch of 1 mm are respectively named pitch diameter issue, tip diameter factor and caliper diameter element. The respective things for respective numbers of teeth are listed beneath. If these things are multiplied by chain pitch, the basic dimensions with the corresponding sprocket may be obtained.
Instance:
Inside the situation of 80 (25.40 mm pitch) with 35 teeth Pitch diameter (Dp) = P×Pitch diameter component
Calculation formulas for tooth gap kinds
Since the most rational tooth gap varieties through which the pressure angle modifications in response on the elongation of the smoothly rotated roller chain together with the lapse of service time, ANSI specify two varieties of tooth profiles: U-type and S-type. Generally, S-type tooth profiles are adopted in accordance with ANSI, and our conventional sprockets also have S-tooth profiles.
